Should You Be Wearing a Hazmat Suit in Your Work Environment?
by admin
Professionals who deal with toxic substances on a regular basis are often worried about the possible risk of acquiring chronic conditions and ailments as a result of working with these substances. A hazmat suit should be worn by people who handle well-known toxic substances while working.
Mechanics, factory workers and woodshop workers are required to wear Level D hazmat suits which are simply designed to protect their regular clothes. These suits would be useless to cleaning professionals who deal with a wide range of substances including solid toxic substances and gases. Cleaning professionals are best served by Level A suits which provide complete protection from all forms of toxic substances. Level A suits do not provide protection from fire, and therefore fire fighters wear Level C suits which are specially designed for their profession. Level B suits on the other hand could work for professionals who require protection only against liquid and solid substances.
