I Moved Across the Country

My birth mother put me up for adoption when I was just a few days old. I used to struggle with that until I met her a few years ago for the first time and she explained why she did that. It was then that I realized just how much she did love me, and I wanted to get to know her better. My adoptive parents had both passed away, so I was happy when my birth mom suggested that I look at apartments for rent in Colton CA.

I was living in Ohio at the time and she was across the country in California, which meant that the majority of our interaction was done online. Being in the same city as her though, that would take our relationship to a whole new level. It would also allow me to get to know my younger sister and brother along with their families. I immediately started looking at apartments there, and I found a really nice one at The District. I didn’t need anything huge, so the one bedroom unit was perfect for me. I really liked how the apartment is laid out, especially since it meant that I would have a large balcony right off my bedroom.

I am a thinker. I don’t enjoy going out to the clubs like a lot of people my age. I would rather sit on the balcony at my apartment, watch the sunset, and just contemplate on my day or life in general. The views from my apartment balcony are absolutely breathtaking, and it is my favorite thing to do here when I am not visiting with my new found family. I love having my two young nieces come over because we can swim in the pool and then make some delicious mac and cheese back at my apartment. I am so glad she suggested that I move here!
