I Needed Fake Check Stubs for a Scene in a Film Project

Posted in Uncategorized on January 19th, 2017

I have hopes of getting one of my short films into the Cannes Film Festival one day. You really have to produce something of quality to get in, but you do not need a huge budget to do it. I have access to video editing software professionals use, and it only costs about as much as one dinner out per month to afford it. I use local talent who works on spec. That is, if the film makes anything, they get some of it. As for props, I find a way. I needed fake check stubs for a fictitious company that was part of the script of my latest project. I found an online check stub maker that made very real looking check stubs. Better than I could have made on my own.

It was for a scene where the fake check stubs would be seen for just a few seconds on camera, but the prop was a needed element of the scene. Some days I get the things we need for shooting just hours before the camera is actually rolling. Sometimes it is minutes before. Read the rest of this entry »

Why We Kept Our Contract with the Cleaning Services Company After We Finished Up Our Major Work Projects

Posted in Uncategorized on January 17th, 2017

Work can get crazy. The more you do, the more they expect from you. I have had to actually sit my boss down and set boundaries that the corporate world is not allowed to cross. However, I am not stupid. I realize that there are others who are willing to jump into your job and push you out of the way for less money and more hours spent at work. I never liked that about the corporate world, but it is what it is. Recently, my wife and I had to research cleaning companies to help take care of our home as we both had major projects at work that needed more attention than we really wanted to put in.

The staff we had to develop the project was new for both of us. We had to spend countless hours bringing them up to speed on a learning curve for the technology that was being developed for the client. Read the rest of this entry »

I Have to Find a New Apartment

Posted in Uncategorized on January 5th, 2017

I had to buy the newspaper this morning to read about what happened to my roommate. The guy had been missing for a couple of days, which was not that great of a surprise. He loves to party and from time to time he takes it too far. At any rate he got into a drunken bar fight over some other guy’s girlfriend and then when the police came he did not exactly follow directions. At any rate he is looking for someone to help him with bail and I need to look for Rio Rancho apartments. If he is not working and earning the money to make his half of the rent, then I have to figure out what else to do. Read the rest of this entry »

Selling Scrap Metal As a Retiree

Posted in Uncategorized on October 26th, 2016

I retired last year, and I’ve been looking for a way to help supplement my retirement income. I found that recycling scrap metal can be very profitable. A friend of mine told me about it, and I decided to take a closer look. It turns out that scrap metal prices are really easy to find online. I found this website that gives me all the information that I need in order to decide where I should recycle. It covers major, big cities around the US, so if I happen to be traveling around the country as I often do, I can look up this information for my current location. Read the rest of this entry »

The Make or Break Exam

Posted in Uncategorized on May 30th, 2016

One of the biggest tests is coming up and I plan on passing it. This test is the final test for the year, and if I pass it, I will be one step closer to getting my civil engineering degree. I’ve looked over the footing spreadsheet multiple times and used every study aid imaginable to prepare for the exam. This has been a stressful period for me, because there is a lot of information covered on the exam, meaning that I have a lot to go over. Once this is all done, I’m going to take a long nap for a week.

A couple of my friends from my engineer class have been stressing out over the exam as well and they’ve been doing everything to prepare. Read the rest of this entry »

We Feel a Lot Safer Now

Posted in Uncategorized on May 7th, 2016

I have never been the type of person to worry about home security, mainly because I just didn’t think about it. I have lived in the same neighborhood on the outskirts of Sydney for most of my life, and it has always been a relatively quiet town. I don’t live in a bubble, so I was aware that crime was very much part of our daily life, but I still never thought to look into home security systems in Sydney since the majority of the crime happened a good distance from me.

Being on the outskirts of such a large city meant that everything is going to spread to the surrounding areas though. As new homes and businesses were built closer to us, it also meant that the negatives came along with that, which was mainly an increased crime rate. Read the rest of this entry »

Why We Do Not See a Lot of TV Ads for Sydney Criminal Lawyers

Posted in Uncategorized on May 7th, 2016

If you committed a crime, would you prefer to serve the maximum or minimum sentence? What would you do if you were falsely accused of a serious crime? Would you throw yourself on the mercy of the court hoping they would get it right? I hope not, because there actually are innocent people in prison. How many news stories have you seen were someone is being released after years of incarceration because new evidence exonerates them? We see accident attorneys on TV all the time, but you do not see a lot of Sydney criminal lawyers making television commercials. I think there is a psychological reason for that.

If you hire an accident attorney, you are likely to be seen as the victim. People can think what they want about you going after a settlement, but their mindset is actually in your favor seeing you as a victim and not a perpetrator. However, if you are accused of a crime, your own friends and neighbors will have you in doubt. Read the rest of this entry »

The Price for Your Hair

Posted in Uncategorized on February 3rd, 2016

With hair as long as mine, I’ve been donating it over the years. 10 inches at a time, which seems to take no time to grow. I’ve always had hair that’s grown at an absurdly quick pace and it’s always felt like I’ve spent more time going to have my hair cut than I’ve gone to the doctor! After my sister started selling her hair to wig makers, I decided that I wanted in on some of that moeny. With my natural hair extensions, how could we go wrong? It’s our kind of hair that goes for some of the most on the market – are you surprised there’s a market?

I was shocked when I found out that there are websites devoted to the buying, selling and even trading of hair. I had no idea such a thing was out there. I mean, I knew that people were buying and selling hair – where would those realistic wigs come from otherwise? Still, to find an entire community of individuals coming together to form a little subculture that surrounds hair was kind of amazing. It was kind of cool to learn so much about hair and about the different classifications of hair.

That also surprised me. That they used different classification systems to describe and organize the different hair types that people have. I always assumed that there was simply straight hair, wavy hair and curly hair. I didn’t realize that you coul break it down even further – from the type of curly hair; how oily it is, how strong it is or how ‘kinky’ it can be. I almost wish I had curly hair considering that it’s the type that goes for the most! I don’t make a whole lot with my hair, only $300 for a foot of it, which isn’t terrible.

Getting Ready for Work in the Morning Does Not Have to Be Hard

Posted in Uncategorized on December 3rd, 2015

I hear complaints around the office, especially in the break room. Girls are always talking about what they have to do to get ready in the morning. They talk about getting up at four in the morning to get showered, get their makeup done and get their hair ready to walk out the door. I do not and will not have that problem. I mean they talk about choosing clothes as if their lives depended on it. I wear minimal makeup, and I put my clothes out the night before. I have a curly weave hairstyle that is easy to maintain. I do visit the hairstylist about once every two weeks for a touch up. Sometimes I go once every three weeks. They are just down the street and take walk-ins, so no problems there. I Hope We Get to Move to This Place Soon

Posted in Uncategorized on November 12th, 2015

When my husband received word that there was a job opening in a city two hours away from where we were living, he called me immediately to see if I would be up for relocating. I told him that I thought I might, but asked if we could please discuss it more when he got home that night. After that call, I was curious about the city he told me about, so I started looking at Lincolnshire apartments immediately after our call because I wanted to know if I would like the area.

I had no idea what the are was like, but had heard the name mentioned many times. I figured that had to be a good thing. No one ever talks about places that are entirely forgettable, right? Where I live is older and there is very little foliage, but the town where my husband was interested in working is full of lush trees and colors of nature. I thrive on having beauty around me, and had not felt like my surroundings were beautiful in all my time here. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Make a Great Relationship Work

Posted in Uncategorized on October 22nd, 2015

I’ve been without any sort of cable or satellite for years now. Before last week I wouldn’t have been able to tell you the last time that I had either. All that came to an end after my girlfriend discovered the DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket where she turned to me and firmly told me that we were getting satellite. That was that. I know better than to argue with her about such things – it was her turn to pick an investment for the home. It’s definitely not something I would have picked myself but hey, she’s paying the bill!

That’s how our relationship operates, anyways. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Backing Up Data is So Important

Posted in Uncategorized on October 22nd, 2015

Whether a person only uses computers to store things like personal photos and videos or your company relies on technology, the bottom line is that data can be almost as valuable as money itself. A photo from your son’s first birthday or research that has taken years to develop may be what keeps the Earth spinning, but anyone who loses data will be quick to admit that it can be devastating within their personal world. Of course, the pain and suffering caused by losing data can be avoided with backups, which is why this Linux backup server option is getting more and more praise and attention.

Benjamin Franklin once famously said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and while he did not stay around long enough to see a computer, it still applies to this scenario. Losing data can cost endless amounts of money to try and recover after the fact, and sometimes it is flat out impossible no matter what is done. If the data is irreplaceable then it can flat out be gone forever, unless a backup was set up before the loss occurred. Read the rest of this entry »

The Gaps in Human Health

Posted in Uncategorized on October 22nd, 2015

With every seasonal change comes a plethora of sicknesses that will interfere with our ability to work or go about our day to day activities while leaving us feeling miserable, weak and unhappy. Nobody enjoys being sick which is why, when I heard about long zhong tang tcm clinic in Singapore, I decided to give them a visit rather than the GP I had been visiting on such occasions. As of late I have been growing more concerned about my health in general which has lead to me look into a lot of alterantive sources of health. While I have nothing against what we know as the modern practice of health, it does very little in the sense of helping you understand your bodily or nutritional health and offers almost no guidelines in which you should follow to develop an equilibrium within you. I Am Living in Canada Now

Posted in Uncategorized on October 13th, 2015

I have been studying the question for a few days, ever since I got up here to Canada and realized that my Netflix USA account does not seem to work up here in the Great White North. I have been transferred to the Toronto area, in fact I kind of like it here and I think that I shall eventually get all of the problems with the move sorted out. It is going to be pretty comfortable here once I get a few things fixed up. In fact I found a nice apartment within walking distance of my office and it is pretty cheap compared to what I was thinking that it would cost me to rent a place like this. It is not very big, but that is quite fine with me. I am only one person and I do not have a lot of things with me. Read the rest of this entry »

Watching Streams with No Lag

Posted in Uncategorized on July 24th, 2015

I signed up for Internet access at in preparation for a big fighting game tournament. I attempt to watch the tournament every year, but in previous years, my Internet connection wasn’t fast enough to handle the stream. I would either have to watch the stream in the lowest quality, which was always grainy and hard to see, or watch it at a higher quality with constant lag and buffering. Sometimes I would miss out on the intense action of the tournament because of this, and I hated it.

Using my new Internet connection, I was able to watch the stream on the highest quality with no lag or buffering. I could watch multiple games being played at once and each one ran smoothly. On top of that, I could also do things that I would normally do on the Internet uninterrupted. I could check my email, make calls to my friends via VOIP, and even upload some files, all while watching the stream.

The tournament took place over 3 days and there were 8 games being played. Read the rest of this entry »

Some of the Oldest Archeological Finds

Posted in Uncategorized on August 20th, 2012

Kyongju is rich in Korean history and archaeological sites such as the ...Believe it or not, my love for Peruvian archeology came about because of the film, Jurassic Park. That is not as much of a stretch as it may seem to be. I loved dinosaurs, but they quickly took a backseat once I saw how archeology played a major role in what we know about them. From that point forward, I knew that I wanted to know as much as I could about archeology. The more I studied, the more aware I became that Peru is steeped in archeological history and finds. As I read about some of the oldest architectural finds in known history, I became more enthralled.

I had already majored in business management by this time but that didn’t stop me from taking a class on Peruvian archeology when it became available online. I learned about the history of the entire region as well as some of the more memorable finds. Entire societies were discovered through various digs. Read the rest of this entry »
