Improving My Golf Game Takes a Lot of Practice and a Little Bit of Golf Club Tech

Posted in Uncategorized on May 16th, 2017

Our son is into video gaming. He has worked delivering newspapers and cutting grass to build a PC gaming system that is unsurpassed. All of my disposable income goes into golf. It is what I like to do. My wife plays tennis, and I golf. Our son and my wife both golf a little, and they are not bad at it. I try as hard as I can to just reach the level of mediocrity at the game. I have such a hard time chipping shots from the rough that I searched for the best golf chipper I could find.

I have taken lessons and practiced my swing to no end. I even had everything from the drive to the putt analyzed by cameras and computer algorithms that, supposedly, would help me identify what I am doing wrong. Well, I suppose the analyses did tell me what I am doing wrong, but correcting it is easier said than done. Read the rest of this entry »

Making My Phone Look Like a Winner

Posted in Uncategorized on April 28th, 2017

Since last year, one online game has become popular with many people, both those who play video games and those who don’t. The game has been able to attract fans who admire the game for how fun it is, and for how creative and well designed the characters look. There is one female character that has a mech suit that is really popular. I love her look and wanted to get a DVA phone case with her on it. A lot of the cases on the typical online stores are a bit boring for my tastes. Read the rest of this entry »

The Second Bedroom is Our Home Office

Posted in Uncategorized on April 4th, 2017

My husband and I are both go getters. We graduated at the top of our classes, and we have already started a quick climb up the corporate ladders in our respective companies. When a headhunter for a company in College Park gave both of us an offer that was just too good to pass up, we knew that we were going to move there and see if the gamble pays off, which we both think it will. I took care of looking at College Park GA apartments so we could move in before we had to start working while he worked on figuring out how to break our lease without it costing us a lot of money, which he did!

I also succeeded in my own search because I found the perfect place for us to live. The Pad is a new apartment complex, and it is exactly the kind of place where we both want to live. They have so many different things that are so appealing to us. The first is the location. It is a quick train ride away from our new work place, and there are even days where we will be able to work from home. Read the rest of this entry »

Addiction Rehab in New Jersey Treats the Underlying Problem

Posted in Uncategorized on March 11th, 2017

I was watching the evening news today and saw a segment on addiction rehab in New Jersey. This was a very interesting segment on addiction. This place has a different approach on addiction rehab. They not only treat the addiction but they also treat the underlying cause of the addiction. You see, you can treat the addiction and get clean and sober. But a relapse is most likely to occur if you don’t treat the underlying psychological cause of the addiction. It makes a lot of sense and hopefully, they will be very successful in helping those who are chemically dependent.

The news piece went on to say that there is a long list of underlying psychological causes of addiction to include but not limited to post-traumatic stress syndrome, low self-esteem, loss of a loved one, insomnia and depression. They have different treatment programs depending on they cause and type of addiction. Read the rest of this entry »

Getting the Right Treatment with a Dual Diagnosis Psychiatric and Addiction Disorder

Posted in Uncategorized on March 5th, 2017

My sister has always been depressed. I cannot think of a time in her life that she did not deal with feelings of just being blue to not thinking life was worth living another day. She never talked about suicide other than to say how she thought family would be better off if she was dead when she was at a really low point and crying. She began to self-medicate in her teen years. She used cocaine to feel good and alcohol to bring her back down. It was not long until she needed dual diagnosis addiction treatment, and that is a hard thing to find in a lot of areas.

Doctors who treat the psychiatric disorders are not usually tied with the team at the addiction treatment center. She needed both aspects of her diagnosis treated at the same time. We were very happy to have located a dual diagnosis treatment center that could help her. It took a little time for her to lose the cravings and be able to resist falling back into the user mentality. Read the rest of this entry »

Hiring a Mobile App Design Firm

Posted in Uncategorized on February 26th, 2017

So much about technology right now is trending towards mobile, from devices to software to content, almost everything is being geared towards, or revamped for mobile. As the trend continues, more innovative thinkers come up with new ideas and services that they think consumers will find useful. The problem is that translating those ideas into a concrete product can be difficult. That’s where mobile app development companies come in. Firms like Massive Infinity have the ability to help you turn your ideas into a concrete product or service that you can get out to the masses.

Some of the most creative ideas can come from people who do not have a ton of technical know how. Although some view this as a challenge, creative thinkers should recognize that this is not an impediment in succeeding in the mobile landscape. Read the rest of this entry »

I Already Know Which Condo is My Next One

Posted in Uncategorized on February 25th, 2017

I love looking at condos. I already live in one, but my lease is going to be up in a couple of years, and I am seriously thinking about investing in one on my own instead of just renting one off of someone. I have been looking at The New Launch Collections website because it is the most detailed about all the new developments. I don’t want to waste my time by looking up each site and going there when I can just come here to this website and have all the information in one spot.

That is how I found the Whitley Residences, and the condos here are by far the nicest I have seen. Admittedly, I am a huge fan of water. I would love to have a swimming pool right inside my condo! Since that is next to impossible, these condos at Whitley Residences are the next best thing. At every other condo that I have looked at, a person has to leave their condo and walk to the pool area. I Found a New Girlfriend

Posted in Uncategorized on February 17th, 2017

I was really surprised that I was able to get this girl, she is a really beautiful girl and I was sure that she would be able to find a better option than me. In fact she is one of the sales agents at a place called Seaside Residences condo towers. She gave me the tour the other day when I brought lunch to her, that was quite impressive. She pretended that I was rich enough to afford one of the really nice places and showed me the penthouse display unit. Of course I do not think this fooled anyone, but I was pretty excited. It felt like some sort of fantasy to be that rich and of course she was extra flirty because it was me. These are some really huge buildings, there are two of them and in all she told me that there were around 850 condos in them. Read the rest of this entry »

I Needed Fake Check Stubs for a Scene in a Film Project

Posted in Uncategorized on January 19th, 2017

I have hopes of getting one of my short films into the Cannes Film Festival one day. You really have to produce something of quality to get in, but you do not need a huge budget to do it. I have access to video editing software professionals use, and it only costs about as much as one dinner out per month to afford it. I use local talent who works on spec. That is, if the film makes anything, they get some of it. As for props, I find a way. I needed fake check stubs for a fictitious company that was part of the script of my latest project. I found an online check stub maker that made very real looking check stubs. Better than I could have made on my own.

It was for a scene where the fake check stubs would be seen for just a few seconds on camera, but the prop was a needed element of the scene. Some days I get the things we need for shooting just hours before the camera is actually rolling. Sometimes it is minutes before. Read the rest of this entry »

Why We Kept Our Contract with the Cleaning Services Company After We Finished Up Our Major Work Projects

Posted in Uncategorized on January 17th, 2017

Work can get crazy. The more you do, the more they expect from you. I have had to actually sit my boss down and set boundaries that the corporate world is not allowed to cross. However, I am not stupid. I realize that there are others who are willing to jump into your job and push you out of the way for less money and more hours spent at work. I never liked that about the corporate world, but it is what it is. Recently, my wife and I had to research cleaning companies to help take care of our home as we both had major projects at work that needed more attention than we really wanted to put in.

The staff we had to develop the project was new for both of us. We had to spend countless hours bringing them up to speed on a learning curve for the technology that was being developed for the client. Read the rest of this entry »

I Have to Find a New Apartment

Posted in Uncategorized on January 5th, 2017

I had to buy the newspaper this morning to read about what happened to my roommate. The guy had been missing for a couple of days, which was not that great of a surprise. He loves to party and from time to time he takes it too far. At any rate he got into a drunken bar fight over some other guy’s girlfriend and then when the police came he did not exactly follow directions. At any rate he is looking for someone to help him with bail and I need to look for Rio Rancho apartments. If he is not working and earning the money to make his half of the rent, then I have to figure out what else to do. Read the rest of this entry »

Selling Scrap Metal As a Retiree

Posted in Uncategorized on October 26th, 2016

I retired last year, and I’ve been looking for a way to help supplement my retirement income. I found that recycling scrap metal can be very profitable. A friend of mine told me about it, and I decided to take a closer look. It turns out that scrap metal prices are really easy to find online. I found this website that gives me all the information that I need in order to decide where I should recycle. It covers major, big cities around the US, so if I happen to be traveling around the country as I often do, I can look up this information for my current location. Read the rest of this entry »

The Make or Break Exam

Posted in Uncategorized on May 30th, 2016

One of the biggest tests is coming up and I plan on passing it. This test is the final test for the year, and if I pass it, I will be one step closer to getting my civil engineering degree. I’ve looked over the footing spreadsheet multiple times and used every study aid imaginable to prepare for the exam. This has been a stressful period for me, because there is a lot of information covered on the exam, meaning that I have a lot to go over. Once this is all done, I’m going to take a long nap for a week.

A couple of my friends from my engineer class have been stressing out over the exam as well and they’ve been doing everything to prepare. Read the rest of this entry »

We Feel a Lot Safer Now

Posted in Uncategorized on May 7th, 2016

I have never been the type of person to worry about home security, mainly because I just didn’t think about it. I have lived in the same neighborhood on the outskirts of Sydney for most of my life, and it has always been a relatively quiet town. I don’t live in a bubble, so I was aware that crime was very much part of our daily life, but I still never thought to look into home security systems in Sydney since the majority of the crime happened a good distance from me.

Being on the outskirts of such a large city meant that everything is going to spread to the surrounding areas though. As new homes and businesses were built closer to us, it also meant that the negatives came along with that, which was mainly an increased crime rate. Read the rest of this entry »

Why We Do Not See a Lot of TV Ads for Sydney Criminal Lawyers

Posted in Uncategorized on May 7th, 2016

If you committed a crime, would you prefer to serve the maximum or minimum sentence? What would you do if you were falsely accused of a serious crime? Would you throw yourself on the mercy of the court hoping they would get it right? I hope not, because there actually are innocent people in prison. How many news stories have you seen were someone is being released after years of incarceration because new evidence exonerates them? We see accident attorneys on TV all the time, but you do not see a lot of Sydney criminal lawyers making television commercials. I think there is a psychological reason for that.

If you hire an accident attorney, you are likely to be seen as the victim. People can think what they want about you going after a settlement, but their mindset is actually in your favor seeing you as a victim and not a perpetrator. However, if you are accused of a crime, your own friends and neighbors will have you in doubt. Read the rest of this entry »

The Price for Your Hair

Posted in Uncategorized on February 3rd, 2016

With hair as long as mine, I’ve been donating it over the years. 10 inches at a time, which seems to take no time to grow. I’ve always had hair that’s grown at an absurdly quick pace and it’s always felt like I’ve spent more time going to have my hair cut than I’ve gone to the doctor! After my sister started selling her hair to wig makers, I decided that I wanted in on some of that moeny. With my natural hair extensions, how could we go wrong? It’s our kind of hair that goes for some of the most on the market – are you surprised there’s a market?

I was shocked when I found out that there are websites devoted to the buying, selling and even trading of hair. I had no idea such a thing was out there. I mean, I knew that people were buying and selling hair – where would those realistic wigs come from otherwise? Still, to find an entire community of individuals coming together to form a little subculture that surrounds hair was kind of amazing. It was kind of cool to learn so much about hair and about the different classifications of hair.

That also surprised me. That they used different classification systems to describe and organize the different hair types that people have. I always assumed that there was simply straight hair, wavy hair and curly hair. I didn’t realize that you coul break it down even further – from the type of curly hair; how oily it is, how strong it is or how ‘kinky’ it can be. I almost wish I had curly hair considering that it’s the type that goes for the most! I don’t make a whole lot with my hair, only $300 for a foot of it, which isn’t terrible.

Getting Ready for Work in the Morning Does Not Have to Be Hard

Posted in Uncategorized on December 3rd, 2015

I hear complaints around the office, especially in the break room. Girls are always talking about what they have to do to get ready in the morning. They talk about getting up at four in the morning to get showered, get their makeup done and get their hair ready to walk out the door. I do not and will not have that problem. I mean they talk about choosing clothes as if their lives depended on it. I wear minimal makeup, and I put my clothes out the night before. I have a curly weave hairstyle that is easy to maintain. I do visit the hairstylist about once every two weeks for a touch up. Sometimes I go once every three weeks. They are just down the street and take walk-ins, so no problems there. I Hope We Get to Move to This Place Soon

Posted in Uncategorized on November 12th, 2015

When my husband received word that there was a job opening in a city two hours away from where we were living, he called me immediately to see if I would be up for relocating. I told him that I thought I might, but asked if we could please discuss it more when he got home that night. After that call, I was curious about the city he told me about, so I started looking at Lincolnshire apartments immediately after our call because I wanted to know if I would like the area.

I had no idea what the are was like, but had heard the name mentioned many times. I figured that had to be a good thing. No one ever talks about places that are entirely forgettable, right? Where I live is older and there is very little foliage, but the town where my husband was interested in working is full of lush trees and colors of nature. I thrive on having beauty around me, and had not felt like my surroundings were beautiful in all my time here. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Make a Great Relationship Work

Posted in Uncategorized on October 22nd, 2015

I’ve been without any sort of cable or satellite for years now. Before last week I wouldn’t have been able to tell you the last time that I had either. All that came to an end after my girlfriend discovered the DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket where she turned to me and firmly told me that we were getting satellite. That was that. I know better than to argue with her about such things – it was her turn to pick an investment for the home. It’s definitely not something I would have picked myself but hey, she’s paying the bill!

That’s how our relationship operates, anyways. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Backing Up Data is So Important

Posted in Uncategorized on October 22nd, 2015

Whether a person only uses computers to store things like personal photos and videos or your company relies on technology, the bottom line is that data can be almost as valuable as money itself. A photo from your son’s first birthday or research that has taken years to develop may be what keeps the Earth spinning, but anyone who loses data will be quick to admit that it can be devastating within their personal world. Of course, the pain and suffering caused by losing data can be avoided with backups, which is why this Linux backup server option is getting more and more praise and attention.

Benjamin Franklin once famously said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and while he did not stay around long enough to see a computer, it still applies to this scenario. Losing data can cost endless amounts of money to try and recover after the fact, and sometimes it is flat out impossible no matter what is done. If the data is irreplaceable then it can flat out be gone forever, unless a backup was set up before the loss occurred. Read the rest of this entry »
